Sealed League Format

A never-ending source of Magic fun!

Sealed League Rules

Sealed League is an continuously ongoing MTG format at Critical Hit Games where players build a deck from a sealed pool consisting of one booster from each of the six most recent Standard sets. Entry into Sealed League is simply the cost of the boosters. Each player will receive a collection box for their sealed pool and must keep it at the store. Decks must be at least 40 cards.

Sealed League players get a match log sheet where they can record their match results to win milestone promo cards, with each new promo earned getting progressively better. Each week, during store hours, players can face-off against any opponent of their choosing in a best-of-three-game match, but only the first match with each unique opponent counts for the log sheet, with the defeated player signing the winner's sheet. Tuesday evenings are currently designated as our official Sealed League Night for matchmaking purposes.

Players also have the option to re-buy a pack from their sealed pool once a week. If they choose to do this, the new pack replaces all of the cards of the same set in that player’s sealed pool. Players must be wary of doing this as they don't have a choice to keep the old pack once the new pack has been opened. With each new Standard set release, players will need to purchase one pack of the new set to add to their pool, removing all of the cards from the oldest set to complete the rotation.

At the end of each of season, we will have a Championship event on the last Tuesday before the prerelease of each new Standard set. In this tournament, players can win prizes such as Set Boosters, exclusive promo cards, and 1st Place will take home a custom Champion playmat!

Booster Battle Format

A full game of excitement with only two booster packs!

Booster Battle Rules

- Each player receives two boosters packs, removes any ad, token, or basic land cards, then shuffles the rest together to form their decks.

- A separate deck consisting only of five of each basic land is shuffled and placed between both players at the start of each game.

- To begin the game, place the top five cards of the basic land deck face-up between both players, then each player draws an opening hand of five cards. Players are allowed one free mulligan.

- During each player's Draw Step, the turn player MUST add one of the face-up basic lands between both players to their hand. This is performed after the normal draw, but even during the first turn of the game where the normal draw is skipped. If the last face-up basic land is taken, the next five basic lands are placed face-up from the deck.

- Matches are best-of-one-game with 20 life.
